What is a Vacuum Pump?

Diesel engines are not known to produce vacuums during operation. And while gasoline engines do, the vacuums created may not be sufficient to power all of the car accessory systems. Vacuum pumps provide or augment the vacuum power needed to drive the operation of other accessory systems like the HVAC system and brakes. This pump can be found behind the engine, installed near the firewall and close to the brake booster and master cylinder. An electric air pump, the vacuum pump provides the vacuum reservoir with the right amount of vacuum. It’s not uncommon to notice hissing sounds from the engine when the vacuum pump is faulty. Brake pedal and heater control problems may also be experienced.

– The vacuum pump is liable to both mechanical and electrical problems
– This car part is not serviceable. Hence it is not a concern when carrying out routine maintenance.
– It is possible for vacuum line leaks to show symptoms synonymous with a faulty vacuum pump.

They are very responsive and helpful. I sent in a request at 2PM today for a car inspection service within 5 hrs - they were very accommodating and were able to schedule a mechanic for me. Raymond arrived at my location on time and he was very friendly and thorough. He walked me through everything that he checked step by step and even taught me how to check some parts myself. I got a PPI inspection for a car I wanted to purchase. Book and inspection was done in a coordinated way. Billing was comfortable. This is truly an excellent service and very cost-effective. These guys are pro. I found them through google and wanted a second opinion on a car from a private seller that I was buying.
