Labour is calculated by Multiplying the length of time it will take to do the repairs by the Hourly Rate
Commuting on normal road conditions, you shouldn’t experience any problems. However, this is often not always the case, as making emergency stops or veering off dangers cannot be ruled out. Hence the need to always have your brake system in good condition.
Cars are equipped with brakes on all four wheels in order to keep your car in position when engaged in gear. Driving an automatic transmission equipped vehicle, a parking pawl is engaged when the shifters are in the park. Manual transmission cars are, however, kept in position by parking or emergency brake that is usually applied manually.
You usually need to press and release the emergency brake pedal. You can also engage the parking brake or handbrake lever by pulling up and releasing it at the press of a button and afterwards lowering the handle. Whichever scenario occurs, the emergency brake cable is central to this process.
Note:
– The entire brake system will cease to operate with no anti-lock control if one ABS speed sensor fails. Your mechanic will usually be able to identify which, and how many sensors have failed after diagnosing the system.
– The Anti-lock brake system light automatically turns on and stays lit when the car’s ABS sensor fails.
– Losing the functionalities of your ABS system makes steering overly difficult, especially in emergency situations where brakes might be locked up and stopping distance increased.
Inspect the emergency brake control
Remove faulty brake control and install new one
Start the engine and examine operation of the emergency brake control
Test drive car to ensure emergency brake control works efficiently
Emergencies cannot be ruled out when on the road, and a functional ABS system can save the day in such scenarios since they ensure your brakes don’t lock up and hit an obstacle. Driving around without an operational ABS system, therefore, exposes you to dangers and poor steering on difficult terrains.
Consider Replacing Your Emergency Brake Control When:
– The emergency brake pedal fails disengage
– It appears difficult to engage the emergency brake pedal or lever
– There’s no significant resistance when engaging or disengaging the emergency brake pedal.
Our Recommendation:
Consider hiring a mechanic when brake system problems arise. This will ensure timely replacement of defective sensors. Without a properly functioning ABS system, chances are high of locking up brakes, especially in an emergency situation or when driving on slippery terrains.
